On May 22, 2025, the European Commission released the EU Deforestation-Free Regulation (EUDR) and classified relevant countries into risk tiers, with China being included in the low-risk country list
On May 26, 2025, the National Institute of Chemical Safety (NICS) of South Korea issued Notice No. 2025-8, amending the Hazard Assessment Results of Chemical Substances (originally announced as Notice No. 2025-5 on February 18, 2025) under the Chemical Substances Registration and Evaluation Act (K-REACH) and its enforcement rules. The amendments take effect immediately upon publication.
On 27 May 2025, ECHA released IUCLID 6 (v9.0.1). Companies can now use it to prepare intention notifications under the EU Drinking Water Directive and submit notifications for microplastic restrictions under REACH.
Under K-REACH, polymers meeting PLC criteria may qualify for registration exemptions by submitting GPC reports.

On May 21, 2025, the New Hampshire State Senate and House of Representatives amended the RSA 149-M:64 regulation, introducing a new ban that explicitly prohibits the sale of ski wax, boat wax, surfboard wax, and similar sports products containing intentionally added per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).

On 20 May 2025, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) announced the official launch of its newly upgraded Classification and Labelling (C&L) Inventory in the ECHA CHEM database. This update aims to enhance the accessibility and transparency of classification information for users and to lay the foundation for future data expansion.
The regulation also sets a limit of 1,000 mg/kg for the minimum allowable quantity from the effective date, reducing it to 1 mg/kg after 30 months.
